DUTCH tests can be ordered at additional cost. They are not mandatory, but can be valuable in terms of elucidating estrogen metabolism pathways and cortisol patterns which can impact overall well being.

    Insurance

Dr. Seeram is in network with Husky, Cigna and Aetna Insurance now and will soon be in network with Anthem BCBS. Please note that if the insurance is Medicare primary or is based outside of Connecticut, it will not cover our services.

Natalie Walters NP, CFMP is an out-of-network provider

Contact us for more information about the membership or sliding scale option.

  • Labs

We do our best to be conscious of your finances and often order labs via Quest which are covered by most insurance plans. Coverage for labs depends on your insurance plan. We do not know the specifics of your plan and deductible status so it is best to check your coverage for labs before having your blood drawn.

At times, we will recommend specialty labs that are not covered by insurance and we will discuss this with you at the time of your visit.

We recommend supplements that you can get in our office or from Fullscript, an online professional dispensary. You can use cash, check, credit card or an HSA/FSA card to purchase supplements.

  • Insurance

We are Out of Network and do not accept commercial insurance for payment for our services at this time. We expect to be in-network for Dr. Seeram and Dr. Rodrigues by fall of 2024.

Most people with private insurance will get reimbursed for out of network services. Some plans have a seperate deductible for out of network services which means that you will need to use HSA or pay out of pocket until you reach that deductible. Please review your policy and/or contact your insurance company for more details.

Insurance policies vary greatly and we cannot know what part of our service, if any, your insurance will cover. We will provide each patient with a receipt that is called a “superbill.” You can submit this superbill to your insurance carrier and, in most cases, you will receive some reimbursement. It is your responsibility to know what your out-of-network benefits are.

FAQs

  • No, we don’t do discovery calls. Our website describes what we treat and what our approach is. If you have general questions, Jessica will be happy to answer them.

  • Insurance based care is a “pill for every ill” approach. It does not allow for a personalized, holistic, root cause approach to health. There is minimal time for a provider to get to know an individual and their unique needs when working with insurance.

We base treatments on you as an individual with a unique genome, microbiome and lifestyle instead of on what the insurance company tells us they will pay for a diagnosis code.

  • We know that integrative medicine is an  expense for many individuals, but here are the questions we pose—How long have you been suffering? How many solutions have you tried? What have those solutions cost you—in terms of your life and how you live it?

We wish that insurance covered more of what we do. However, after years of experience practicing integrative medicine, we can assure you that this is far less expensive than the alternative—doing nothing or continuing down the same path.

Add up the amount of time you’ve spent suffering from your illness, ailment, or uncomfortable symptoms the amount of money you’ve spent trying to find solutions that never stick. Then think about how much it’s cost you in terms of your quality of life. Once you look at the full picture, we bet integrative medicine is well worth the investment.

  • The answer to this question depends on many factors; How long have you been ill?, How many different concerns and issues do you have? Are you willing to make the necessary changes to achieve better health? With that being said most people find that they begin to feel better within 8-12 weeks.
